Born and raised in Port Huron, Austin grew up playing hockey in the Port Huron Minor Hockey Association. He graduated from Port Huron High School where he played football all four years, and played hockey his junior and senior year. Austin is currently attending St. Clair County Community College studying business management. He has also been the Public Address Announcer for International Silver Stick Finals since 2015.
